En sus páginas se enseñan los criterios y conocimientos de conservación y restauración actuales, los materiales y herramientas que se emplean, así como los distintos procesos que hay que abordar al entrar un cuadro en el taller, tales como la documentación, el análisis de la obra y de sus patologías, y las técnicas adecuadas para reparar los daños que aquéllas han causado en la pintura. En el último capítulo, como ejemplos prácticos, se incluyen 5 casos de restauración, paso a paso, de cuadros con problemas distintos.

En la primera parte el lector encontrará los conocimientos indispensables sobre materiales, herramientas y técnicas de realización, así como ocho proyectos paso a paso de diversos tipos de vitrales, desde el vitral emplomado hasta el vitral realizado con silicona, una técnica novedosa, prácticamente desconocida. La segunda parte del libro aborda los materiales y las técnicas básicas de la restauración, en especial del vitral emplomado, ilustrado con dos proyectos paso a paso.
